The work of a spiritual director and directee is most effective when given on-going commitment, time and attention to what God is revealing and how one might best respond to that which is being revealed.

I like what Father Barry and Connolly say about this kind of partnership, “‘Spiritual’ does tell us that the basic concern of this kind of help is not with external actions as such, but with the inner life, the soul, the personal core out of which come the good and evil that people think and do. It includes “head” but points to more than reason and more than knowledge. It also reminds us that another Spirit, the spirit of God, is involved. ‘Direction’ does suggest something more than advice giving and problem solving. It implies that the person who seeks direction is going somewhere, and wants to talk to someone on the way. It implies, too, that the talk will not be casual and aimless, but apt to help him find his way.”

This three month journey is for those wanting to deepen their spiritual understanding of where they might be and where God might be leading them. This is ideal for seasons of transition, moments of personal crisis, steps of faith beyond what has been known, or as a way to intensely care for one’s soul at a particular point in time.

The journey is designed uniquely for the individual - including personal themes/topics, wisdom sources, and reflection/practices to incorporate.

Each month includes the following:

• Soul Session (50 min) that introduces a monthly theme, discussion and personal reflection

• Daily practice - a suggested practice that is unique to the monthly theme and fosters embodiment and contemplation

• Weekly check ins (5min audio) - a short but intentional communication to share the weekly questions and learnings

• Monthly reading or audio book to support the theme and practices

• On-going support and access to Sam as Spiritual Director

• At the conclusion of three months there will be a closing ceremony and an invitation to continue in Spiritual Direction with Sam
